FINISHES

Scratch Golf offers more finishes on our clubs than any other company in golf. Our Tour Custom Wedges and Irons are available in 8 different finishes which allows the player to truly customize their Scratch clubs.

Plated finishes:

24k Gold

The Gold finish is our finish of choice for trophies and displays. This is the only finish with an upcharge. 24K gold plating gives this finish a timeless, high-end look. Each Touring Professional that wins a Tour event with a Scratch Wedge or Iron set gets a 24k gold plated replica of the club that they used to win that event.

Chrome

The Full Chrome finish was long the “industry standard” finish for wedges and irons. It is a bright and shiny mirror finish that these days give wedges or irons an almost “retro” look. The Full Chrome finish features a nickel layer with polished chrome on top. This provides the ultimate in durability for your clubs.

Satin Chrome

The Satin Chrome finish is Scratch Golf's “standard” finish. It is used on the 8620 Milled wedges. Satin Chrome provides a less glare-inducing finish for your clubs. It is designed to give clubs the classic look players have come to expect, yet without the strain on the eyes that a full chrome club sometimes causes.

Satin Nickel

The Satin Nickel finish gives players another plated option for their clubs. The Nickel finish is a pale, soft, yellowish finish. It is a very attractive finish that is a bit different from the normal options, yet still very classic and clean. The Satin Nickel finish has the same durability characteristics as the Satin Chrome and, like all the plated finishes, will not rust when left exposed to moisture.

Satin Copper

Satin Copper has a bolder, almost orange appearance. The Satin Copper finish has the same durability characteristics of the Satin Chrome. It is a good option for players who have used Beryllium Copper wedges in the past and want the same look now.

Non-Plated Finishes

Antique

The Antique finish is a dipped finish that leaves the clubhead in a deep, sometimes even marble, brown finish. However, the Antique finish looks similar to that of a Raw finished head that has worked its way to its final rusted state. The brown color of this finish won't show rust as clearly as a Raw or XXX Black finished head, but rust will show. Additionally, like all non-plated finishes, it will show wear marks where the ball or turf are contacted. The Antique finish is also a non-glare finish.

XXX Black

The XXX Black finish is a black oxide treatment that leaves the clubhead in a deep, rich, black finish when it is new. The XXX Black finish requires some measure of up-keep to maintain it, as it will rust if left un-oiled. A gun blue oil, however, will keep the finish looking clean and rich, except at the contact points with the ball and the ground, where the finish will wear. XXX Black is a non-glare finish.

Raw

The Raw finish is the most basic of all the finishes. The club goes through the complete grinding and finishing process, but is not treated or plated. As time goes by, the clubhead will start to rust, eventually ending up in a deep, brown finish that will show marks where contact is made either with the ball or the ground, before then rusting back up. Many players like the Raw finish for its non-glare appearance, soft feel and ease of maintenance.
